1 Rossmoor Shooting Victim Hospitalized With Life-Threatening Injuries, Step-Grandfather In Custody

ROSSMOOR (CBSLA.com) — A female victim Friday remains in a local hospital with life-threatening injuries after allegedly being shot by her step-grandfather, officials said.

According to the Orange County Sherrif's Department, 72-year-old Michael Molle was arrested Thursday evening for the attempted murder of his two step-grandchildren.

Deputies said that they responded to 2842 Tucker Lane around 8:25 p.m. last night for reports of a shooting at the residence.

Once on scene, they discovered an adult female and an adult male who were suffering from gunshot wounds, officials said.

According to the Orange County Sheriff's Department, both victims were transported to local hospitals where only the male victim was treated and released.

During the preliminary investigation, a handgun that was believed to be used in the crime was recovered at the scene, officials said.

Deputies said they found that the shooting stemmed from a domestic dispute, but are not releasing any further details at this time.

Molle is being held on $500,000 at the Orange County Jail and is scheduled to appear in court on Monday.
