SACRAMENTO (CBSLA.com) — Authorities in Northern California have arrested a suspect in the murder of Matt Barnes’ aunt.

Michael Williams, Tanganyika Hoover’s ex-husband, was in the custody of Sacrament police Tuesday, according to a tweet posted by the law enforcement agency.

He is accused of fatally stabbing the Hoover on July 8 in the Sacramento area and then fleeing the scene.

Williams, who is believed to be a transient, had been on the lam ever since.

Barnes took to Twitter and Instagram on July 22 and posted photos of Williams, asking for the public’s help.

Barnes has yet to issue a statement about the arrest.
