Festival Of Arts Kicks Off Summer Scene In Laguna Beach

LAGUNA BEACH (CBSLA.com) — Laguna Beach's summer arts scene has become even more eventful with the kickoff of the Festival of Arts and the Pageant of the Masters.

Since Sunday, the Festival of Arts ground along Laguna Canyon Road has been filled with paintings, photography, jewelry, sculptures, and other artwork by more than 140 artists from Laguna Beach and surrounding Orange County areas.

All artists were jury-chosen prior to the festival's opening out of hundreds of entries.

For the next eight weeks, visitors can view and buy art, listen to live music, enjoy live cooking demonstrations and participate in hands-on art lessons and art workshops.

During the night, the Festival of Arts will also host the Pageant of the Masters, where volunteers will recreate famous and lesser-known artworks in a series of tableaux vivants or "living pictures."

For more information, visit the festival's website.
