CBS2/KCAL9 Viewer Helps Woman Struck By Vehicle Reunite With Missing Dog

FOUNTAIN VALLEY (CBSLA.com) — An Orange County woman has been reunited with her dog after she was struck by a car and the animal took off running.

The happy reunion was caught on camera Monday night after a CBS2/KCAL9 who found the dog contacted our station.

We put her in touch with the Owen family to reunite them with Tiki.

Jennifer Owen, 77, was struck by a slow-moving vehicle Monday morning near Mile Square Park in Fountain Valley, and watched her Chihuahua-mix, Tiki, take off across the street without his collar.

Her family posted flyers around the park and contacted local animal care facilities in hopes of finding their beloved dog.

Owen was hospitalized but avoided major injury, suffering bruises and cuts to a shoulder and her elbow.

Tiki managed to cross the street without being struck by a car.
