Dance, Film Converge For Dance Media Film Festival

STUDIO CITY (CBSLA.com) — Dance and film come together to connect cultures from all across the world in the 13th Annual Dance Media Film Festival this and next weekend in Los Angeles.

The event is created by Dance Camera West, a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting and developing the art form of dance and dance media.

Dance Media Film Festival is a nexus for hundreds of provocative films, coming to L.A. from around the globe.

Two of the stars of this year's festival visited KCAL9 News Sunday to offer a preview of their performance.

Indian Kathak master Chitresh Das and American tap dancer Jason Samuels Smith are a true east-meets-west collaboration, with their duo of tap that combines the sounds of Smith's Western tap shoes and Das' bare feet.

Lovers of dance can see this unlikely pairing and other inspiring dance collaborations at the festival, which takes place June 6-8 and 13, at The Music Center, Grand Park, REDCAT, MOCA and Union Station.

For more information on these guests and festival go to the Dance Media Film Festival.
