Actor, 54, Accused Of Sexually Assaulting Girl, 13, For 11 Months

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com)  —   Authorities have arrested a 54-year-old man after accusing him of sexually assaulting a 13-year-old girl from April 2008 through March 2009.

Cameron Thor, an actor who lives in Agoura Hills, was arrested on Tuesday on a charge of kidnapping with the intent to commit rape.

Officials said the victim met with Thor about attending acting classes. After a consultation, they allege he drove her to a secluded area in Agoura Hills and sexually assaulted her. The alleged victim was 13 at the time.

The case was presented to the Los Angeles District Attorney's Office Wednesday. Deputy District Attorney Simone Shay filed the following charges against the suspect: Eleven counts of a sex crime on a child under 14, one count of kidnapping, robbery, rape, sexual penetration and another of rape or sexual penetration.

The suspect was arraigned at the Van Nuys Courthouse on Thursday and is being held in lieu of $2.6 million bail.

Thor's many credits include "Jurassic Park," "A Few Good Men," "Hook," and TV's "Star Trek: The Next Generation."

The actor teaches acting at the Carter Thor Studios which he co-owns with Alice Carter.

According to his Wikipedia page, some of his students have included Madonna, Cameron Diaz, Macy Gray, Garry Shandling, Gwen Stefani, Drew Carey, Gerard Butler, Christina Applegate, Helen Hunt, Faye Dunaway and Sylvester Stallone.

On Thursday, the actor's Twitter page and acting school website were both down.
