SILVER LAKE (CBSLA.com) — A man was killed Thursday in a shooting outside of a Del Taco restaurant.

Paramedics were sent to the 4300 block of West Sunset Boulevard, near Fountain Avenue, around 11 a.m., according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

The victim, who was shot twice, was transported to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

The shooting suspect was last seen driving eastbound on West Sunset Boulevard.

Several LAPD patrol cars remained on scene as Sky2 was overhead.

Nearby Thomas Starr King Middle School was placed on lockdown, according to the Los Angeles Unified School District.
