Chris Brown Released From LA Co. Jail Early

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Singer Chris Brown was released from the Los Angeles County Jail early Monday morning.

Brown was freed at 12:02 a.m. and quickly took to Twitter to express his gratitude.

The 25-year-old has been on probation for a 2009 attack on then-girlfriend Rihanna.

In May, a judge ordered Brown to remain in jail for 131 days for violating his probation after he was arrested for assault in Washington, D.C. in October 2013.

He only served 24 days in relation to that sentence.

It was unclear if his release was related to good behavior or overcrowding.

Brown is awaiting trial in the Washington, D.C. case.
