Kasem Children Step Closer To Being Reunited With Casey After Legal Victory

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com)   —  Casey Kasem's children are celebrating a legal victory Friday and saying they are one step closer to being reunited with their father, the legendary broadcaster and announcer.

Kerri Kasem won a special court order in Washington state, according to her spokesman.

The order allows Kerri the authority to make health care decisions on her father's behalf. The decision also allowed Kerri to put Casey in a hospital for evaluation.

The Kasem children are estranged from Kasem's wife Jean and both sides have been involved in a bitter legal battle.

The Kasem children, his brother and several business associates said his wife won't let Kasey see them.

Casey Kasem has been suffering with dementia.

"Obviously the court is not buying that the family is up there on vacation," Kerri said through her spokesperson. "Why is she trying to block a doctor from seeing my father? What does she have to hide? If you truly love my father, you will do the right thing and allow him to get proper medical treatment."
