Miguel Olivo Suspended Indefinitely For Biting Ear Of Alex Guerrero

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) - The Los Angeles Dodgers have announced catcher Miguel Olivo will be suspended indefinitely pending the completion of the investigation from an altercation with Cuban prospect Alex Guerrero.

The dispute happened during a Dodgers minor league game on Tuesday with Triple-A Albuquerque in Salt Lake City.

Dodgers general manager Ned Colletti says the team is looking into what precipitated the altercation on Tuesday. He says he was disappointed to hear about the fight and the Dodgers don't condone it.

The Los Angeles Times reports that agent Scott Boras says a part of Guerrero's ear was bitten off by Olivo.

A short clip of the beginning of the fight can be seen on the website TrueBlueLA.com.

Guerrero was sent to the hospital after the game, where he is recovering from his injures. Police asked Guerrero if he wanted to press charges. He declined.
