LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com)   — The Los Angeles Police Department has begun a fundraising effort to aid the family of an officer who died while on duty.

Officer George Nagata, a 33-year veteran of the department, died reportedly from heart trouble on May 3.

In a statement, the LAPD wrote: Interested parties may contribute funds via the following options —
