Josh Rubenstein's Weather Forecast (May 5)

STUDIO CITY (CBSLA.com) — The change in weather has arrived, and temperatures have been knocked down nearly 20 degrees in 48 hours.

Expect clearing skies later Monday as the morning marine layer breaks up. A trough of low pressure and frontal boundary will move through the area Tuesday bringing even cooler temperatures and more importantly some dangerous winds.

Advisories start up Monday and run through Tuesday, however from the forecast models, it looks like those advisories could be extended into early Wednesday.

This system that is pushing through the area is particularly dry, but there may be a couple of very light showers. The best chance for that will be Tuesday.

Look for the cool weather to continue on Wednesday before a gradual warming trend begins. By the weekend high pressure builds in and temperatures should be in the 80s again. It looks like the next ridge of high pressure will hang around for a few days.

Basin - low 70s

Coast - upper 60s

Valleys - mid 70s

Mtns - low 60s

Deserts - mid 70s
