Josh Rubenstein's Weather Forecast (April 30)

STUDIO CITY (CBSLA.com) — We are definitely in the midst of a strong Santa Ana event here in Southern California. The winds relaxed a bit overnight, but they are setting up to howl again today. The off-shore flow will drive temperatures up into the 90s and near 100.

We broke a few records yesterday and there is a good chance we will break records again today. This is all being driven by a strong ridge of high pressure that is parked over the West Coast. These hot dry conditions are upping the fire danger as dew points drop to critical levels.

Look for similar conditions tomorrow. We might see some slight cooling. The on-shore flow takes over as we make our way into the weekend. However, by the beginning of next week, we will drop back down to the 60s.

Basin - mid to upper 90s
Coast - upper 80s to low 90s
Valleys - mid to upper 90s
Mountains - low 60s
Deserts - low 80s
