LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — A man who admitted to running over his estranged wife's Chihuahua on purpose was sentenced Monday morning to 16 months in state prison.

A security camera caught Michael David Parker driving over the small dog named Cow-Cow in a Hawthorne alley on Dec. 28.

Parker and his wife were in the middle of a divorce at the time of the crime.

The 45-year-old pleaded no contest Friday in a plea deal to one felony count of cruelty of an animal.
