Josh Rubenstein's Weather Forecast (April 28)

STUDIO CITY (CBSLA.com) — Get geared up for a hot week in the Southland. A strong ridge of high pressure will expand into the west coast over the next 24 hours.

This upper level feature along with an off-shore flow at the surface will contribute to some very hot days.  Look for a good 7 to 10 degree bump in temperatures from Sunday's highs Monday afternoon.

Then there will be increase of another 10 degrees Tuesday as the Santa Ana winds kick in.

With the winds strengthening Monday evening, don't be surprised to see some wind advisories or warnings pop up Monday night. Temperatures will top out in the mid-90s in the coastal plain. Look for the warm weather to hold through this week. By next weekend there will be some relief.

Basin - upper 70s to low 80s

Coast - Low 70s

Valleys - mid 80s

Mtns - low 60s

deserts - upper 70s
