Amber Alert Activated For Missing Fresno Child

UPDATE (9:05 a.m.): Tanya Ruiz, 3, was located by authorities and the Amber Alert was canceled.

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Authorities asked for the public's help Monday in finding a 3-year-old girl who was reportedly abducted from Northern California.

Tanya Ruiz was kidnapped Sunday night near Fresno by an unknown man, the California Highway Patrol said.

Ruiz is described as a 3-foot tall Hispanic female who weighs 33 pounds. She has brown hair, brown eyes and was last seen wearing a brown shirt with flowers, jean shorts and white sandals.

The male suspect is said to be a Hispanic male in his early 30s with long hair. He was last seen wearing a red shirt and red hat.

No additional suspect information was released.
