LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — A woman suffered moderate injuries Saturday when a vehicle drove into a restaurant in downtown Los Angeles.

Police were called to the scene at the corner of Olive Street and Venice Boulevard at approximately 1:20 p.m.

A LAPD spokesperson said the vehicle plowed five feet into the restaurant, striking a female worker inside.

The victim was treated and transported to a local hospital.

The driver declined transport.

Teams from the city’s Department of Building and Safety and LAFD Urban Search and Rescue are assessing the structural integrity and shoring the building for safety.
