Camarillo Sexual Battery Suspect Arrested

CAMARILLO (CBSLA.com) — Camarillo detectives have arrested a suspect in a sexual battery that occurred at a Vons grocery store last month.

Investigators say the female victim was inside the store in the 5000 block of Mission Oaks Boulevard on March 31 when the battery occurred.

Detectives generated several photographic line-ups and Carlos "Rico" Rodriguez was positively identified as the suspect.

A warrant was issued for Rodriguez's arrest on two counts of sexual battery and elder or dependent adult abuse.

Rodriguez was arrested without incident on Friday in the 100 block of Caleta Drive in the city of Camarillo and booked at the Pre-Trial Detention Facility in Ventura.

His bail is set at $20,000.

Anyone with further information regarding Rodriguez or the crime is asked to contact Detective TJ DeSalvo at (805) 388-5157.
