FULLERTON (CBSLA.com) — A pedestrian was killed Friday after coming into contact with a downed power line in Fullerton.

A spokesperson for the Fullerton Fire Department told KCAL9 News responders were dispatched to a medical call on West Commonwealth Avenue and South Brookhurst Road, where they found an adult male deceased.

Officials believe the man came into contact with a live power line at the scene.

Witnesses say the man was pushing a shopping cart on the sidewalk shortly before the incident.

Officials have yet to say how and why the power line was on the ground.
