Man, 47, Found Guilty Of Molesting 3 Young Family Members

LONG BEACH (CBSLA.com) — A Long Beach jury on Thursday convicted a 47-year-old man of molesting three family members.

The Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office announced Vicente Bojorquez was found guilty of six counts of lewd acts upon a child under age 14.

Jurors also found true the allegations that the crime was committed against multiple victims.

Bojorquez previously was convicted of unlawful driving or taking of a vehicle in 2005 and receiving stolen property in 2006.

For the molestation crimes, Bojorquez is scheduled to be sentenced May 19 in Department South 20 of the Los Angeles County Superior Court in Long Beach. The defendant faces a sentence of more than 45 years to life in state prison when he is sentenced by Judge Mark C. Kim.

The prosecutor said Bojorquez molested the victims in San Pedro between the mid-1990s and 2002. The victims included two girls and a boy, all under the age of 14.

In 2010, one of the female victims came forward about the sexual assaults. Soon after, other family members also revealed that they had been sexually abused by the defendant.

At the time of the arrest, Bojorquez was living in Mexico. During a visit to Southern California, he was apprehended by police on Dec. 5, 2012. He has remained in custody since his capture.

The case was investigated by the Los Angeles Police Department, Juvenile Division, Abused Child Section.
