Registered Sex Offender Arrested For Allegedly Having Sex With Girl, 15
REDONDO BEACH (CBSLA.com) — A 27-year-old registered sex offender has been arrested for allegedly having intercourse with a minor, South Bay authorities said Wednesday.
Hugo Gonzales, of Harbor City, was first arrested in 2010 for having sex with a 14-year-old girl after meeting her on MySpace, Redondo Beach police said.
In June 2011, he was convicted of using a computer to entice a minor to engage in any sexual activity and was subsequently required to register as a sex offender.
Earlier this year, Gonzales used "meetme.com" to contact underage girls, according to officials.
Gonzales eventually met with two 15-year-old girls, "provided alcohol to them, and had sex with one of the minors," Sgt. Shawn Freeman said.
He was arrested April 9 by Redondo Beach police.
The Los Angeles County District Attorney's office has filed seven felony counts against Gonzales, as well as two misdemeanor counts of furnishing alcohol to minors.
He is currently being held on $245,000 bail at the LA County Jail.
