Fullerton Residents Wake Up To Find Car Tires Slashed

FULLERTON (CBSLA.com) — At least 20 Fullerton residents woke up Tuesday morning to find their car tires slashed.

KCAL9's Michele Gile reported that about 30 vehicles on Franklin and Pritchard avenues were vandalized overnight.

"I came, woke up and my tire was popped," a man said. "No reason. The whole street…popped. Every tire."

Seven-year-old Daniel Rodriguez said his mother's Chrysler was affected.

"We just came out, my mom was getting ready to take me to school, and then we just came over here and we saw the car like that. Then my dad had to take me [to school]," he said.

Jose Burgos lost six tires on his three cars.

"So far it's been about $160. So far," he said.

Abel Orozco, who lives on Pritchard, said he heard his dog barking before dawn and saw three men running off.

"There's nothing you can do about it. If you run down here and you confront them, you don't know what's gonna happen. Tires are tires," he said.

As of Tuesday afternoon, no one has been arrested.

"Historically, there have been gang issues in those neighborhoods, although right now the issue has cleaned up, so it's really difficult to say why these two areas were targeted," an officer said.
