Track Installation For Metro Expo Line Closes Stretch Of Lincoln Blvd. In Santa Monica

SANTA MONICA (CBSLA.com) — A closure Monday of a stretch of Lincoln Blvd. in Santa Monica to make way for the installation of train tracks for the Metro Expo Line is expected to provide headaches for motorists.

The initial closure of Lincoln started at 3 a.m. at Colorado Avenue, and is scheduled to continue until 6 a.m. on Monday, April 28, according to the Exposition Construction Authority.

Traffic traveling northbound on Lincoln is being redirected east on Olympic Boulevard, with motorists being advised to take northbound 11th Street, followed by westbound Santa Monica Blvd. to get back to Lincoln.

Southbound traffic, meanwhile, is being detoured east on Santa Monica Blvd., with motorists advised to continue south on 14th St. to Pico Blvd.

Traffic control officers were on hand Monday in order to help guide motorists around the inconvenience.

Colorado Avenue, meanwhile, is closed to traffic between Seventh and Ninth streets.
