Suspect Arrested In Theft Of Woman's Purse With Late Son's Toys

MURRIETA (CBSLA.com) —  One of two suspects wanted for stealing a grieving mother's purse with special mementos of her late son has been arrested.

Amanda Sander was taken into custody after she was allegedly seen on security video using Ashley Norris' stolen credit cards, according to police.

The man allegedly seen with Norris in the video was identified as Romulo Castaneda. Police say he is still on the loose.

Norris' purse was stolen from a locker at the Murrieta LA Fitness center last month.

Inside were toys her 8-month-old son, Timothy, used to play with. The mother said she's kept them since he died of a rare disease last year.

Police found the purse at the home of one of Sander's relatives. The toys, however, have yet to be recovered.
