Suspect Arrested In Shooting At Benedict Canyon Home

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — A Lakewood man has been arrested in the murder of a 28-year-old man found fatally shot in his Beverly Crest home over the weekend, police said Monday.

Gerson Sanchez, 31, was taken into custody after the shooting along the 10000 block of Westwanda Drive in the Benedict Canyon area at approximately 3:55 p.m. Saturday, according to police.

Authorities were called to the residence after a co-worker found the victim, later identified as 28-year-old Angelo Armani Eppolito-Autry, with multiple gunshot wounds, police said.

A Los Angeles Fire Department Rescue Ambulance responded and pronounced the victim dead at scene.

Investigators say Sanchez was a former employee of Eppolito-Autry and the two had an ongoing dispute over money.

Sanchez is being held on $1 million bail and will be arraigned on Tuesday.
