Police Seek Public's Help In Finding 8 Women Who Robbed Valencia Sunglasses Store

VALENCIA (CBSLA.com) — Investigators are looking to identify a group of at least eight young women who raided and robbed a sunglasses store in Valencia.

The robbery occurred on Saturday, March 29, at approximately 2:50 p.m., in which at least eight women, believed to be between the ages of 18 and 25 years old, made off with well over $20,000 worth of merchandise, according to a statement by the Los Angeles Sheriff's Department.

A surveillance video caught the action as it happened, and police are now asking for the public's help in identifying the suspects.

The clerk running the store, which is located at the 2400 block of Town Center Drive in Valencia, reports that the group of women entered the store, and proceeded to gather around display cases.

All of a sudden, the women each started stuffing several pairs of sunglasses into bags, and ran out the door as the clerk attempted to dial 9-1-1.

"This is a flash mob type of situation, where a large number of people entered the location and quickly cleared out lots of merchandise, and fled" LA County Sheriff's Deputy Joshua Dubin said.

A separate witness reports having seen the women get into a dark-colored SUV prior to fleeing the scene.

Anyone who may recognize any of the women, or who may have further information on the robbery, has been asked to call the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff's Station's Detective Burrow at (661) 255-1121, or at JDBurrow@lasd.org .

Crimes may also be reported anonymously trough the LA Regional Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.
