MTV To Present Channing Tatum With Trailblazer Award

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — MTV announced Wednesday that actor Channing Tatum will receive the third MTV Trailblazer Award, honoring his "unique and diverse path" in the entertainment industry.

Tatum will receive the award during the MTV Movie Awards, which will be held April 13 at the Nokia Theatre in downtown Los Angeles. Actress Mila Kunis,
who stars with Tatum in the upcoming film "Jupiter Ascending," will present the award.

"Channing Tatum is the quintessential leading man for the MTV audience," MTV President Stephen Friedman said. "He proves that an action hero can have both a quick wit and a large heart. Whether he's baring his soul in 'The Vow,' his chest in `Magic Mike' or his humor in '21 Jump Street,' Channing proves that by committing everything, you can accomplish anything."

Also during the ceremony, Mark Wahlberg will be honored with the MTV Generation Award, which will be presented by the cast of "Entourage."

Conan O'Brien will host the ceremony.

Previous recipients of the Trailblazer Award were Emma Stone and Emma Watson.
