Azusa Pacific University Given 'All-Clear' After Suspicious Backpack Scare

AZUSA (CBSLA.com) — A suspicious backpack prompted evacuations at Azusa Pacific University Monday afternoon.

Sky9's Kevin Takumi reported that the item was reportedly discovered in a classroom at the Segerstrom Science Center shortly after 4 p.m.

Students in the science center were cleared out, as well as those in Building One.

A bomb squad was called to the scene. A robot was used to check out the backpack.

Authorities did not find anything questionable and the campus was given the "all-clear."

All classes were still canceled on the West Campus, according to the university.
