Authorities Still Searching For Inmate Who Escaped From Downtown LA Jail

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Authorities are still searching for a 37-year-old man who escaped from a downtown Los Angeles jail earlier this month.

Christopher Lee Brown impersonated another inmate and walked out of the sheriff's Inmate Reception Center around 10 p.m. March 12, officials said.

Brown, who was sentenced to four years in jail for burglary and identity theft in connection to stealing computers from an Alhambra health care facility, was described as 6 feet 3 inches tall and 200 pounds.

Anyone who comes into contact with him was asked to call 911.

Anyone with information on the incident should call the sheriff's Major Crimes Bureau at (562) 946-7231.
