Josh Rubenstein's Weather Forecast (Mar. 23)

STUDIO CITY (KCAL9) — Look for a cool start to this work week with temperatures running just a touch below average.

There is a cut-off low pressure center moving over the area ... it will help to kick up the clouds between now and early Tuesday.

We will top out about 3 to 5 degrees below average.

By Tuesday, a small ridge and an off-shore flow bumps in as the low exits.

That will translate into a slight warm up. However, there is another weak system brewing and it will pass on Wednesday.

Most communities in the viewing area have a shot at some measurable precipitation. Basically a trace to a tenth of an inch on this system. Then we will dry out and warm up as we head into next weekend.

However, the long range forecast models are still hanging on to a chance for a more potent storm for a week from Monday. We'll see if it holds together.

Basin - upper 60s to low 70s;
Beaches - mid to upper 60s;
Valleys - mid to upper 70s;
Deserts - mid to upper 70s;
Mountains - mid to upper 50s.
