Wis. Woman Killed In Santa Monica Hit-And-Run Crash
SANTA MONICA (CBSLA.com) — Authorities are looking for an apparent hit-and-run driver who they say fatally struck a woman from Wisconsin as she attempted to cross a street in Santa Monica.
The 61-year-old woman and her 32-year-old daughter were not in a crosswalk when they attempted to cross the 1700 block of Ocean Avenue near Seaside Terrace early Saturday morning about 1 a.m.
Police said the pair was struck by a sports coupe with tinted windows.
The suspected driver was only described as a white male, KNX 1070's Ed Mertz reported.

Authorities said CPR was administered at the scene, but the woman sustained major head trauma and was declared dead about an hour after the crash at Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center.
Her daughter, described as a resident of Santa Monica, sustained minor physical injuries and was taken to an area hospital to be checked out. Authorities said the deceased was on vacation visiting her daughter.
The crash occurred almost directly in front of the Hotel California, reported CBS2's Art Barron.
He spoke to two tourists from Arizona who were staying at the hotel's top floor at the time of the crash.
"I hope that somebody saw something somewhere," said a man from Arizona."We didn't hear a sound. We just saw all these flashing lights out front."
A female companion he was with also witnessed the crash aftermath.
"I thought police were going to start knocking on doors. They sectioned off the whole road. It was crazy," she said.
Police said the suspect vehicle sustained significant front-end damage. Police told Barron the cat was last seen making a right on Pacific Terrace and then heading south on Appian Way.
Authorities planned to scan security video from a number of locations to see if the videos will yield any clues.
On Saturday evening, authorities told KCAL9's Brittney Hopper they believed they were looking for a 2003-2007 Infiniti G35 silver or grey in color.
