Police Twice Use Stun Gun On Man, 50, After He Allegedly Broke Windows, Threatened People With Shillelagh

SANTA PAULA (CBSLA.com) — A 50-year-old man was arrested in Santa Paula Saturday after allegedly breaking windows and threatening people with a shillelagh.

Police were called to a residence in the 900 block of W. Telegraph Road just before noon regarding a disturbance call.

On arrival, authorities said Esiguio Robledo -- armed with a shillelagh --  told them people were trying to kill him. Around the same time, police received a call alleging Robledo was at their home moments before breaking windows with the shillelagh.

Police said Robledo began speaking "illogically" and they tased him.

They said the initial use of the stun gun was ineffective and that Robledo charged a group of bystanders in the area.

Concerned for the safety of the bystanders, police said they used the stun gun on Robledo a second time.

Robledo was taken into custody without further incident.

He was charged with assault with a deadly weapon against a peace officer; possession of a prohibited weapon; burglary; vandalism; and resisting, obstructing or delaying a peace officer.

No civilians or officers were injured during this incident. Robledo was taken to the Ventura County Main Jail.
