Man Fatally Shot In Compton

COMPTON (CBSLA.com) — Detectives Wednesday were investigating the shooting death of a 24-year-old man.

The shooting happened around 10:53 p.m. Tuesday in the 1700 block of Graham Avenue in Compton, the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department said.

When authorities arrived on scene, they found the unidentified victim "suffering from multiple gunshot wounds" in the backyard of a home.

Detectives later learned from witnesses that they heard gunshots and went to check on the victim and saw he had been shot, officials said.

"The victim was taken to the backyard until deputies and paramedics arrived on scene."

The man was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

There was no suspect description available.
