Arson Team Probing Fires At 2 Azusa Homes Under Construction

AZUSA (CBSLA.com) — An arson investigation was underway Wednesday after two homes under construction caught fire overnight.

The fires were reported around 1 a.m. near Vosburg Drive and Desert Willow Road in Azusa, the Los Angeles County Fire Department said.

When firefighters arrived, they found the two single-story homes well engulfed.

It took more than 30 firefighters about 38 minutes to knock the fire down.

"There was a report that just prior to the fire there were sounds of an argument occurring nearby and we are still investigating that," Sgt. Xavier Torres of the Azusa Police Department said.

Damages were estimated at $500,000 for both structures.

Additional details were not released.
