LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — A pedestrian was fatally struck Wednesday morning on the northbound San Diego (405) Freeway in the Sepulveda Pass.

The person was hit around 5:38 a.m. near Getty Center Drive, resulting in a three-vehicle traffic collision, the California Highway Patrol said.

Officials said a man exited his vehicle due to car troubles and was hit by a mini van.

A nearby truck swerved in order to avoid the man and collided with another vehicle.

Several northbound lanes were shut down until just before noon as officials investigated.
