26-Year-Old Man Fatally Shot In Oxnard

OXNARD (CBSLA.com) — Investigators are searching for the person who shot a 26-year-old man dead Friday.

The incident happened around 10 p.m. near Courtland Street and Canterbury Way, according to Oxnard police.

Officers responded to a call of shots fired.

An officer arriving on the scene found the unidentified victim lying in an alley.

The officer called emergency medical technicians but the victim succumbed to his wounds and died at the scene.

The victim's name is being withheld until his next of kin could be notified.
