Ex-TV News Anchor Bree Walker Arrested On Suspicion Of DUI

ANAHEIM (CBSLA.com) — A former TV news anchor was arrested earlier this week on suspicion of drunken driving in Anaheim, according to reports Thursday.

Bree Walker, 61, was stopped by police about 12:30 a.m. Wednesday near South Beach Boulevard and West Ball Road on suspicion of running a red light, according to the Orange County Register.

She was unable to produce a driver's license, police said.

After police allegedly smelled alcohol, Walker was arrested on suspicion of drunken driving and later released on her own recognizance, The Register reported.

Officers impounded her vehicle and turned over a pit bull found inside the vehicle to animal control officers, according to The Register.

Walker, who is perhaps best known in Los Angeles for her stint at CBS2 in the 1980 and '90s, worked as a reporter and anchor in San Diego, L.A. and New York City.

She was also known as a disability activist after being born with a rare genetic condition known as syndactyly, which left her with some fingers missing or fused together, a condition she first revealed while at KGTV in San Diego.
