Man Killed In Apparent Drive-By Shooting In Pasadena Identified
PASADENA (CBSLA.com) — A young man killed in a Pasadena shooting that also wounded two other people was identified Tuesday.
Steven Ascencio, 18, of Pasadena, died at the scene of the shooting that erupted about 10 p.m. Monday, coroner's Assistant Chief Ed Winter said. The shooting happened at El Sereno Avenue and Cedar Street, Pasadena police Lt. John Dewar said.
The shooting may have been a drive-by, which is unusual for the area, Dewar said.
A late-model white SUV was seen at the scene, but no other suspect description was available, he said.
Witnesses heard gunfire, and officers found the three victims, police said. The survivors were reportedly a 17-year-old boy and a 19-year-old man.
The severity of their wounds was not known.
