Woman, 19, Fatally Shot Inside Pasadena Home

PASADENA (CBSLA.com) — Authorities say a 19-year-old woman was found dead Sunday inside her Pasadena apartment after police received a "shots fired" call.

Pasadena police Lt. Vasken Gourdikian said officers were sent to the home in the 1500 block of North Raymond Avenue after receiving an 8:48 a.m. call of gunfire.

When officers arrived on scene, they located the victim dead from an apparent gunshot wound.

The victim has been identified as Iris Acosta Olvera.

"Currently the scene is secured by detective personnel," Lt. Gourdikian told City News Service.

Police are calling the woman's boyfriend a "person of interest" in the case. They are trying to locate the boyfriend now identified as Jon Jon Crummie.

CBS2's Brittney Hopper talked to Olvera's friends and family. They described Crummie as controlling and jealous.

"She deleted her Facebook account for him," said family member Angel Olvera Lopez, "She was changing. She stopped hanging out with her girlfriends. I heard that they hadn't talked to her, she hadn't hung out with them for a while."

Two people were seen running from the apartment. Hopper said police were questioning one witness but didn't identify him.

The family has set up a GoFundMe page to help pay for funeral expenses.

Anyone with information about this case was asked to call the Pasadena Police Department at (626) 744-4241 or Detective Lt. Terysa Rojas at (626) 744-4517.
