2 Men Beat Up UCLA Student For His Shoes

WESTWOOD (CBSLA.com) — A UCLA student reportedly was walking off-campus in the early morning hours Saturday when two men strong-armed him for his shoes.

The incident occurred at around 1 a.m. as the victim was walking eastbound on Ophir Drive near Midvale Avenue, according to UCLA police.

Two men, described as being between 18 and 20 years old, approached the victim and began punching his head and face.

The suspects took the student's shoes and ran eastbound on Ophir Drive towards Glenrock Avenue.

Both suspects were described as African-American. One of the men was described as approximately 5-feet-10 to 5-feet-11-inches tall and weight between 175 and 185 pounds. He was wearing a white beanie, a gray hooded sweater and jeans. The second suspect was described as six feet tall and having an athletic build. He had dread-locked hair and was wearing black high-top athletic shoes.

Anyone with information was asked to call UCLA police.
