Bomb Squad Responds After Suspicious Bags Found Outside Pacoima School

PACOIMA (CBSLA.com) — A pair of suspicious duffel bags prompted the lockdown of a San Fernando Valley middle school Thursday morning.

The bags were found around 8:20 a.m. outside the front gate of Pacoima Middle School, 9919 Laurel Canyon Blvd., the Los Angeles Unified School District said.

Students and staff were ordered outside to a playing yard while the Los Angeles Police Department's bomb squad was called.

Authorities found the bags contained clothing and the lockdown was lifted around 11:40 a.m., officials said.
