Special Olympics Launches 5th Annual 'Dream House Raffle'

STUDIO CITY (CBSLA.com) – VP of Communications for Special Olympics Kelly Kloepping and athlete Kimmy Boyette visited KCAL9 Wednesday to talk about the fifth annual Dream House Raffle.

The raffle, which was recently launched by Special Olympics Southern California, features a $4.6 million Calabasas home or $3 million in cash.

Among the highlights of the 9,000-square-foot residence are an outdoor living paradise featuring 360-degree views, an infinity pool, wooded trails leading to basketball and tennis courts, and native landscaping throughout the property, which includes a private vineyard and Koi pond.

Inside, the home is spacious with a grand frescoed entrance, vaulted ceilings, gourmet kitchen and open floor plan. Multiple balconies, a guest house, housekeeper's quarters, and even a "man cave" complete the home's impressive list of features.

Entrants can also win thousands of dollars in luxury vacations, cars, electronics and cash prizes, keeping the odds of winning to 1 in 50.

Tickets to win the home are $150 each, with three-packs available for $400, or five-packs for $550.

In February and March, there will be two drawings for those who purchase tickets early, allowing for additional cash prizes ranging from $5,000 to $30,000 or a choice of a vacation or luxury vehicle.

In addition, the Dream House Raffle will once again hold a multi-ticket drawing for those who purchase ticket packages, as well as a "Refer-a-Friend" drawing for those who refer others to purchase a ticket.

Special Olympics Southern California has been changing lives through the power of sport for more than 40 years and offers opportunities for children and adults with intellectual disabilities to participate in year-round sports training and competition.

Last year, the raffle netted more than $2 million for the organization.

To purchase tickets or for more information call (800) 816-6108 or visit http://www.socalraffle.com/, which also shares all contest rules and regulations, photos of the home, and a complete list of early-bird drawing dates and prize categories.
