Man, 22, Arrested In Connection With Burbank Attack

BURBANK (CBSLA.com) — Authorities say a 22-year-old Burbank man has been arrested in connection with the assault of a Sunland resident on Saturday evening.

The identified victim, described only as a man, was hospitalized in critical condition after he was reportedly beaten and stabbed on a Burbank street.

Burbank police Sgt. Claudio Losacco said the attack happened about 7:30 p.m. Saturday in the 1600 block of West Alameda Avenue.

"Upon arrival, officers found a male adult on the sidewalk with severe upper body and head trauma," Losacco said. "The injuries consisted of apparent stab wounds and blunt force trauma."

The sergeant said the victim was treated on scene by paramedics and was transported to an area hospital where he was listed in critical condition.

Losacco identified the suspected attacker as Eric Wang of Burbank. Wang was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and was being held in lieu of $500,000 bail.

Losacco said Wang was expected in court on Tuesday.
