LA Native Jeremy Hodge Released From Custody In Egypt

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Los Angeles native Jeremy Hodge has been released from custody in Egypt, it was reported Sunday.

The 26-year-old tells the Associated Press that he was released without charge and is expected to return home soon.

Hodge, who was working as a translator in Egypt, was arrested Wednesday, along with his roommate, 36-year-old Egyptian filmmaker Hossam Eddin el-Meneai, according to AP.

Hodge says Meneai -- who remains in custody -- saw his roommate beaten during a harsh interrogation.

It's still unclear what charge, if any, Meneai faces.
