Man, 27, Arrested After He's Accused Of Killing His 2 Cats

LONG BEACH (CBSLA.com) — Authorities arrested a 27-year-old man they suspect killed his two pet cats.

Officials say Steven Ullery brought the remains of the cats to a Long Beach animal shelter saying the pets were "defective."

The Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals/Los Angeles said Ullery is facing animal cruelty charges.

Ullery was arrested Thursday and released yesterday after posting a $60,000 bail, according to Sheriff's booking records.

Officers at the SPCA/LA began an investigation after Ullery came to the P.D. Pitchford Companion Animal Village and Education Center in Long Beach with the bodies of his cats, Sylvester and Oliver.

Ana Bustilloz of SPCA/LA said Long Beach police assisted in taking Ullery into custody.
