UCLA Student Reportedly Arrested For Attempted Armed Robbery Of Sorority House

WESTWOOD (CBSLA.com) — A UCLA student has been arrested for an attempted armed robbery at a sorority house as well as another robbery on Wilshire Boulevard, the Daily Bruin reported.

The male suspect brandished a knife and tried to rob a fellow student inside the Alpha Phi sorority around 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, but fled the scene within minutes, university police told the paper.

Shortly after, a student reported that their cell phone was stolen by a man near the corner of Wilshire Boulevard and Westholme Avenue, the Daily Bruin said.

Authorities believe the same suspect is connected to both crimes.

He was later arrested in Beverly Hills, according to the paper.

It was unclear what criminal charges or disciplinary action with the school the suspect faced.
