STUDIO CITY (KCAL9) — Josh Kerns, Chief Marketing Director for Live Basil Pizza, stopped by KCAL9 Tuesday to tell viewers about the restaurant and show how to make their wild mushroom, truffle and arugula pizza at home!

Live Basil Pizza, a new authentic Neapolitan fast casual pizza concept, is making its California debut in downtown Los Angeles Tuesday.

Wild Mushroom, Truffle and Arugula Pizza Recipe:


1 cup sour cream

1/8 cup mascarpone cheers

1 10 in pizza dough

1 1/2 cups mushroom mix including button, crimini and shitake mushrooms.

3 Tablespoons olive oil

1 Tablespoon truffle oil

1 cup organic arugula

1/4 cup mozzarella cheers

1 tablespoon Parmesan

3 tablespoons shaved Parmesan


Combine cup sour cream and mascarpone cheese, mix until smooth

Roll out dough and spread sour cream and mascarpone cheese mixture evenly over the pizza dough.

Sauté mushrooms with tablespoon of olive oil and salt and pepper to taste, about 10 minutes, let them cool before adding to pizza

Add grated mozzarella and Parmesan, on top of cheese mixture.

Bake at 375 for approximately 12 minutes

Remove pizza from oven, top with organic arugula, add shaved Parmesan cheese

Drizzle 1 tablespoon of white truffle oil over the top
