Man Arrested On Suspicion Of Killing 76-Year-Old Mom, Dumping Her In Burbank Alley

BURBANK (CBSLA.com) — A 40-year-old man has been accused of killing his 76-year-old mother and dumping her body in an alley in Burbank, police said.

At 10:44 a.m. Monday, the victim, whose name has been withheld until her family is notified, was found dead behind her apartment complex in the 4000 block of West Victory Boulevard.

Her body was wrapped in some sort of cloth and dumped near a trash bin, Burbank police Sgt. Darin Ryburn said.

The woman's son, Moises Diaz, was later arrested and charged with suspicion of murder. He's being held on $1 million bail.

Ryburn said the suspect lived with his mother and was apparently her caretaker.

Investigators won't be able to release a cause of death until the coroner completes the autopsy.

Anyone who was near the alley between 6 p.m. Sunday and 10 a.m. Monday was asked to call detectives at (818) 238-3210.
