SANTA ANA (CBSLA.com) — Detectives are investigating a fight outside an Orange County nightclub early Saturday that left a 23-year-old woman hospitalized in critical condition.

Shortly after midnight, two groups of friends were waiting in line to enter The Crosby Bar and Nightclub when they began arguing, according to Sgt. Richard Weber of the Santa Ana Police Department.

The argument escalated into a physical altercation when the victim’s friends began an argument with another group of people waiting outside. During the brawl, the 23-year-old woman was injured.

Officers arrived to find the victim unconscious on the sidewalk. She was transported to a hospital and is listed in extremely serious condition.

Police are actively looking for five suspects in the beating.

Investigators believe the incident was recorded on a cell phone and are asking anyone with footage or information to contact them at (714) 245-8390.
