FEMA OKs Funding To Help Battle Colby Fire In Glendora
GLENDORA (AP) — The Federal Emergency Management Agency has authorized funding to help fight the wildfire that's destroyed two homes in the foothills east of Los Angeles.
FEMA says Thursday that it will make money available to reimburse up to 75 percent of certain firefighting costs.
The state submitted a request for aid in battling the fire above Glendora, which has charred at least 2½ square miles of brush. Several thousand people have been ordered to evacuate.
The National Weather Service has issued a red flag warning of extreme fire danger through Friday because of dry, hot weather and gusty Santa Ana winds.
